Sherrie Austin has been drawn to capturing images since childhood – starting with a 110 film camera out of a cereal box and a neighbor’s borrowed VHS camcorder. Since then, Austin has videotaped or photographed various independent and commercial productions, corporate events, documentaries, television shows, print ads, and over 400 weddings. As an undergraduate at Radford University in Virginia she co-created the first Student Produced Television show, ROC-TV.
That spirit of creativity and innovation is found at the core of Austin ImageWorks as a whole. As AIW continues to grow and expand we have an enormous sense of gratitude for being sought after to create our art and for the opportunities we have received to hone our skills and refine our craft.
Guy MacLachlan’s long creative career began as a youngster in San Diego with neighborhood shenanigans, his grandpa’s 8mm camera, and a drawer constantly full of cartoons and illustrations. With an early passion for surfing, diving, hang gliding and skydiving, art and film were always part of the action – and part of his studies at Palomar College.
Guy was part of the first skydive into the Grand Canyon National Park (with a helmet mounted 16mm camera) and at the age of 18 worked as a rigger and instructor for stuntman Rick Sylvester’s skiing parachute jump in James Bond’s “The Spy Who Loved Me”.
Guy owned and operated a successful graphic arts and textile screen printing business in California and Sweden before selling and moving to Maui in 2008 to work with Austin ImageWorks and immerse himself in the art of video production. He is now a very happy camper.
